Breaking Dawn

So, what connects a frog, a pig, a dog, a bear, a rat, an eagle, scientists, a chef and a band?  They're all Muppets!  And the misleading clue?  Well that was the fox card which was a clue to Gonzo, who is a 'whatever' - or so wikipedia informs me.  I'm of the Muppet Babies generation so Gonzo will always be a Weirdo to me.  Judging by the responses, people struggled with that one more then I expected, so well done to everyone who worked it out.  We've got a musical theme this Friday, so come back for that.

And now back to today.  The theme for this post is dawn and the title is the only Twilight reference here, so if you're expecting pictures of Robert Pattinson you might be disappointed.  All we have here is lots of lovely handmade goodies.

Dawn of The Zombie Kittens T-Shirt by StrangeJam
£17 (+ £2 p&p)
Board up your catflap, because here comes the Dawn of the Zombie Kittens! These 'cooler than death' cats have cashed in their nine lives and are now forever damned to prowl the neighbourhood as the living dead, hunting only for mouse flesh, bird brains, or possibly a saucer of milk.  Printed with a direct to garment machine using the latest waterbased inks on a 100% cotton tshirt, this garment is best washed inside out at 40oC or below.  Available in sizes M, L, XL, XXL and XXXL

Desert Dawn Corespun Hand Dyed Yarn by LondonHandspun
£32.75 (+ £1.96 p&p)
This yarn was created by hand dyeing the Corriedale fleece and then handspinning it into a yarn using the corespin technique, in which the fibre is spun sideways onto a length of yarn. In this way, the colours of the fleece can be seen best. The colours are a blend of mild blue, soft purple and pinks, and orange up to almost gold. It's a little curlywurly and mildly thick and thin, so when knitted or crocheted or woven up it will have a lovely character! But as the price of handspun is so dear, this might be better used as an accent yarn.  This is a big skein! Corespun yarns are slightly more delicate that other yarns, but just like all handspuns it should be handwashed in cool water and simply hung to dry. A 250 gram (8.8 ounce) corespun skein of Corriedale fleece, approximately 124 yards long.
