Treat Yourself

It's Friday (woo!), which means it's almost the weekend (double woo!).  It also means to is the last day to join in my free prize draw.  Follow my blog before midnight tonight (GMT) for your chance to win a custom made keyring or bookmark featuring the animal of your choice.  I'm going to draw a winner out of a hat tomorrow and will announce the winner here on Monday.

Before we get started looking at lots of pretty handmade things, I have a favour to ask.  I've applied to Enterprise Nation for a small grant to buy a new sewing machine.  To get the grant I need 150 people to vote for me.  As I write this I have 120.  I'm sooooo nearly there.  If you can spare a couple of minutes please vote for me here:

You need to register and then you can vote.  If anyone one else has an application with Enterprise Nation leave a link in comment on this blog and I'll return the favour.  You never know, some of my lovely readers might vote for you too.

Today's blog is all about treating yourself.  I was a bit fed up yesterday when I came up with this idea.  Money's been tight here for a while so we usually stick to a budget but every once in a while we have a little treat.  For me the best treat is going to Nero's for a mocha but buying myself a little something I want but don't need works too.  So that's what this is all about - small items (£5 or less) to impulse buy.  All the fun of buying handmade and waiting for the postman, hoping it's going to come today....  With none of guilt of having spent lots of money on something you don't really need.  Plus you'll make the seller happy too so everybody wins!
